Level 3 NVQ
Electrical Installations
Experienced Worker

The City and Guilds Level 3 NVQ is required to apply for the JIB ECS Gold Card. To work on JIB building sites you will need their ECS card to be recognised as an Electrician. This is often the final course needed in becoming an Electrician.

The 2346-03 has replaced the 2356-99 for Experienced Workers looking to get their ECS Card.

We offer other Electrical courses for you, if you do not meet the requirements to start the 2346. Please call our course advisors to discuss your options.

Course Content

Your knowledge and skills are assessed by performance units, consisting of real evidence you will collect from your onsite workplace. The 2346 Level 3 NVQ covers the Domestic, Commercial and Industrial sectors across a range of units, the work will need you to work on new Installations as listed below:

•    Health, Safety and Environmental Considerations
•    Organise and Oversee the Electrical Work Environment
•    Terminate and Connect Conductors
•    Design and Installation Practices and Procedures
•    Inspect, Test and Commission Electrical Systems

•    AM2E (The AM2E must be taken at an approved centre and is an additional cost)

The 2346 NVQ level 3 is a portfolio of your onsite work. Unlike the classroom or online learning based courses, the NVQ is creating a portfolio containing examples of tasks you have completed as an Electrician onsite. It is necessary to keep up to date with the latest standards, technologies and practices in the industry when gathering your evidence.
