The City and Guilds Level 3 NVQ is required to apply for the JIB ECS Gold Card. To work on JIB building sites you will need their ECS card to be recognised as an Electrician. This is often the final course needed in becoming an Electrician.

The 2346-03 has replaced the 2356-99 for Experienced Workers looking to get their ECS Card. 

​

Course Content

Your knowledge and skills are assessed by performance units, consisting of real evidence you will collect from your onsite workplace. The 2346 Level 3 NVQ covers the Domestic, Commercial and Industrial sectors across a range of units, the work will need you to work on new Installations as listed below:


•    Health, Safety and Environmental Considerations
•    Organise and Oversee the Electrical Work Environment
•    Terminate and Connect Conductors
•    Design and Installation Practices and Procedures
•    Inspect, Test and Commission Electrical Systems
•    Fault Diagnosis and Rectification
•    AM2E (The AM2E must be taken at an approved centre and is an additional cost)

The 2346 NVQ level 3 is a portfolio of your onsite work. Unlike the classroom or online learning based courses, the NVQ is creating a portfolio containing examples of tasks you have completed as an Electrician onsite. It is necessary to keep up to date with the latest standards, technologies and practices in the industry when gathering your evidence.

You can take the NVQ at your own pace and complete it as quickly as you like – with the average time being around six months. There is however a maximum time limit of three years, after which you would have to re-register and recomplete, including payment.

 

The units can be done in any order, we can assist you if require further guidance.

Entry Requirements

The 2346 Level 3 NVQ Requires you to have minimum of five years experience together with 18th Edition and Initial Verification City & Guilds 2391-50 or Equivalent (EAL, 2394 or older 2391)).

NEW SEPTEMBER 2023 - Now Require a Level 2 Diploma Qualification in Electrotechnical.

You will need to be working onsite as the NVQ is a portfolio of your work. You will usually need to be working on Commercial or Industry sites to cover all the criteria. If you are only on domestic sites, please contact us.

Payment Options

The cost for the course is all inclusive, at £1500.00 registration, course resources including City & Guilds SmartScreen, certification and examination fees are all included.

Financially support for the course is available, the cost of the course can be split into monthly installments payable from your initial booking. 

​

Deposit of £495.00 With Pay As You Learn for just £200 per month.
